Day 4
Aug. 5th, 2010
Creative DNA
Today Ms. Call's topic was creative DNA and whether or not it's possible that we are hardwired with creative DNA...personally...I think it's so.
Whatever that creativity is for you...taking photos, designing clothes, even if you're a 'doodler"...it's involved a creative process that's the obvious...but what about a software designer, not just a game designer either...or how about a horse trainer, or carpenter...each of these talents require a creative process to bring about the desired effect.
I don't have any "witty wisdoms" for you today...or witty silliness for that matter...instead I will leave you with the 3 questions Ms. Call asks in her book...I hope you'll ponder them...better yet answer them and share your answers here. There is no right answer....the questions are subjective, they are "what do you think" type questions...
- If you were born to produce just one type of work, what would it be?
- What is your unique view of the world, and how does it manifest in your (work) artwork?
- What medium best lets you express your creativity?
I've debated with myself whether to answer the questions now or later and whether or not I could answer now...do I have the answers for myself right now? Maybe.
First, I don't think I would be able to produce just one type of work, my mind literally wouldn't allow it, it wouldn't shut up until I created everything I was suppose to create.
My view of the world is constantly changing so my work is constantly evolving, what I do know is color...color always makes an appearance in my work, even in a black and white.
The medium that best lets me express myself is mixed, wood, paper, metal, glass, paint, shells...you name it...I love texture, color and dimension.
Okay so those are my answers....let hear some of yours!
Blessings & Joy,
Alexia
