Sensory Exploration: Vision
Hello! I hope everyone had a Fabulous weekend! So here it is, the blog topic for the weekend...sensory exploration of "los ojos", the eyes...what do you see?
This weekend Barbara Call talked about in her book, The Crafter's Devotional, the palette of none other than, Mother Nature herself! I Love it!
Barbara...who does her research, good job too....shared her findings published by the School of Biological Science, University of Bristol, UK...which states, (in a nutshell), that color isn't inherent to the object...color is a property of the nervous system perceived via light...
Ms. Call goes on to share that we, humans, see in three dimensions...(again this is a nutshell version)...due to the 3 cones or main photoreceptors, we humans have...red, green and blue...However, and this I am EXTREMELY jealous of....Birds can apparently see ultraviolet light, seein' as how they have 4 dimensional color vision....just one more reason for them to strutt their stuff....hump...
So apparently this means that the beautiful and vibrant colors of say....a Peacock...the bird not the person you know who acts like one....the feathers of this bird or any bird are even more colorful, "psychedelic" even according to Barbara, then we perceive them to be....WOW!
So I have some Photographs to share with you...gratis Mother Nature herself.....
I Love Color....although Rich Browns and Jeweled Purples are my Favorites....
I wonder what these Pussy Willows look like to a Bird....? What are they seeing that we're not....?
The Perfect Pose....Zebra stripes are like finger prints....no two are the same.....
These Magenta Beauties (oh...don't ask me what they're called because I have no idea...but they're Pretty right...) are everywhere right now....
My youngest son...when he was a little boy...LOVED...yes....LOVED...Flamingos...or..."Camingos" as he always excitedly called them....
Oh yes...it's a Peacock...don't tell me you didn't see that comin'...lol....
I hope you enjoyed our journey...well my version of it anyway....into the "Palette of Nature"....
See Ya Soon!
Blessings & Joy, Alexia
